Named after the Italian social clubs found in classic Brooklyn, Social Club White is an easy-drinking, clean, fresh, crisp Chardonnay-based blend. SCW is indicative of the cool climate aspects in New York offering refreshing, food-friendly acidity, with notes of crisp apple, pear, and a touch of tropical fruit. It finishes with orange blossom and lingering, palate-cleansing minerality. Not at all heavy or oaky, SCW is the perfect alternative white appealing to both classic Chardonnay drinkers and ABC’ers (anything but Chardonnay)
Varietals
50% Chardonnay, 15% Riesling, 14% Vidal Blanc, 11% Pinot Blanc, 6% Gewurztraminer, 3% Pinot Gris, 1% Viognier
Region
NY State - 69% Finger Lakes, 31% North Fork of Long Island
Process
Stainless-steel fermented at cool temperatures, with brief in-tank stirring on the lees. A higher proportion of Riesling blended into the wine than in the past to boost the acidity of the overall wine. No malolactic fermentation to retain crisp, mineral driven flavors.
Pairing Notes
Social Club White makes a great aperitif or casual sipper, but is extremely food friendly as well. Oysters, shellfish, soft cheeses, salads, and general lighter fare make great matches.
