Brooklyn Oenology Winery works directly with local artists to celebrate the creativity happening all around us. And since our creativity is inside the bottle, and because you taste with your eyes first, we seek out a unique work to represent each of our wines. This ‘creativity partnership’ – from the agricultural, to the culinary, to the visual, is our celebration of our part of the world.
We respect our artists and their work tremendously and have worked with so many talented people. We usually approach artists directly after seeing their work in online image galleries, at sidewalk tables, local art fairs, etc.; most of the artists we work with are not represented by galleries.
In the Brooklyn Oenology Tasting Room we hang work by the artists with whom we’ve approached. Solo exhibitions, group shows and even label competitions, where customers can vote on their favorite label, are regularly going on. Come in and see for yourself.
The work shown on our labels has been of various technique, including oil, acrylic, photography, mixed media, even sculpture. BOE maintains a comprehensive internal listing of potential work for our labels. Artists may submit a link to their digital gallery by emailing us at [email protected]. Due to our limited production we regret that we are unable to work with all artists, or to respond to each submission. We will contact certain artists directly with ideas on how we might work together, and thank artists very much in advance for sharing image galleries.
