– James Lipovac Solo Show RECEPTION

Named after the Italian social clubs found in classic Brooklyn, Social Club White offers an easy-drinking, clean, fresh, crisp Chardonnay-based blend. SCW is indicative of the cool climate aspects in New York offering refreshing, food-friendly acidity, with notes of crisp apple, pear, and a touch of tropical fruit. It finishes with orange blossom and lingering, palate-cleansing minerality. Not at all heavy or oaky, SCW is the perfect alternative white appealing to both classic Chard drinkers and ABC’ers (anything but Chardonnay!) too. Social Club White makes a great aperitif or casual sipper, and is also extremely food friendly. Oysters, shell fish, soft cheeses, salads, and general lighter fare make great matches.
James Lipovac’s vibrant colored landscape, ‘True Cross No.1,’ is acrylic, cut paper and pastel on canvas, and the perfect visual pairing for this wine. ‘True Cross No.1’ and several pieces from the True Cross and Lipovac’s other series will be on display in a solo show of his work at the Brooklyn Oenology Tasting Room in Williamsburg. The show will run from Friday May 17th through the end of June. To celebrate, please join us for a reception on Friday, May 17th from 7-11pm, when BOE will feature $2 off glasses and 10% off bottles of BOE 2012 Social Club White, and complimentary snacks will be served!

BOE’s Winemaker Roundtable Q&A wine classes are unique. BOE winemaker and founder Alie Shaper chooses a set of 6 wines from around NY to taste and start the conversation. Instead of hearing a lecture, class participants get to ask all their burning questions about wine, grape varieties, production, tasting, working in the industry, and anything else that might be on your mind. Class participants also receive 10% off any wines or spirits they purchase on the same evening as the class they attend.

Sushi supper club Mayanoki offers New Yorkers omakase-style dinners prepared by one of the best sushi chefs in the city. Omakase literally means “entrust” which translates directly to the diner entrusting all aspects of the meal to the chef. This approach allows the chef to creatively prepare dishes with the freshest ingredients available and to use a more artistic, spontaneous approach to cooking. Chef Albert Tse has been a sushi master chef for over 20 years, spending the majority of his culinary career at Zutto in TriBeCa. He now offers his world class skills to adventurous foodies who seek to experience sushi as only he can provide.
