BOE 2007 Social Club White
Born and raised in the woods of northern Sweden, Malin Abrahamsson completed the 2-year Fine Arts Program at Sunderby Folkhögskola in 1994. She moved to New York City 1995 and went on to receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in sculpture, with an honorable mention, from School of Visual Arts, in 1998.
Malin has participated in numerous one-person shows and group exhibits in the US and abroad, most notably at the Sara Nightingale Gallery and Konstens Hus. In 2007 she was awarded a large scale permanent public art commission by LIRR & MTA Arts for Transit, New York, and in 2008 she was the recipient of a grant from Helge Ax:son Johnsons Stiftelse, Sweden.
Over the years, Malin has traveled extensively through Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, South East Asia, and the Americas. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn.
